Next Step Initiative is hosting the ALL’N Memorial Trail of Truth in Knoxville on September 13th.
The event includes a memorial cemetery, healing activities, resource tables, food, and more.

Lights of Hope
The 8th Annual Wisconsin Lights of Hope is a Recovery Celebration and Memorial Walk honoring our loved ones impacted by Substance Use Disorder (SUD). We gather to remember loved ones, stand with recoverees to celebrate their recovery and to support families and friends who lost loved ones.
We will stroll around the trails at Pierce Park to reflect on people's lives by viewing the Memorial Signs and you will also see Recoveree Signs--recovery is entirely possible and everyone is encouraged to remember there are multiple pathways to recovery.
12:30pm- Register, brose vendors, make a button, Narcan training
1:00pm - Walk begins
2:00pm - Speakers and food served
Finishes with a candle lighting
There will be resource vendors, raffle baskets, kids' activities, rock painting and if you haven't already had a Tombstone made of your loved one who is no longer here, we will have some available for you to make a Tombstone of your loved one for next year's Trail of Truth. Bring along a picture of your loved one. We have templates to follow and materials are provided. Let us know prior to the Walk that you plan on painting a Tombstone.

Strut for Sobriety
The 22nd Annual Strut for Sobriety is a recovery celebration hosted by A New PATH, which includes a fashion show, boutique shopping, luncheon, recovery awards, and Trail of Truth tombstones.

Trail Speakers and Performers
Speakers and Performers take the stage. Speakers include; Tracie Gardner, Kimberly Douglas, Erica Poellott, and Angela Kennecke. Our performers are Allie Torto and Lonnie Brown! We will have an ASL interpreter, Eliza Moore, present.
Memorial Cemetery Opening
The Memorial Cemetery will be open, as well as other memorialization displays and Healing Spaces. Other memorialization displays include; Enough is Enough Crosses, Today I Matter poster display, Eternal Angel Poster Project, and more! In our Healing Spaces, you will find a variety of offerings including Narcan training, creative activates, and grief and recovery support groups.
National Trail of Truth
The National Trail of Truth memorializes lives lost to substance use related causes through a community created arts installation in the form of a National Memorial Cemetery. On September 27th, 2025, we will have our 3rd event honoring lives from all across the country on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Author's Panel
The Author’s Panel features an incredible array of authors whose work explores issues related to substance use and mental health. The panel will be held at our host hotel, YOTEL Washington DC, Hub 1. Space is limited so please register here if you plan on attending. Panelists include; Bassey Ikpi, Gracie Parker, Pat Roos, Judy Mandel, and Jason Mayo!

Night of Hope
Smoky Mountain Harm Reduction’s 12th annual Night of Hope will be held on August 31st, 2025 in Franklin, North Carolina in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, featuring a Trail of Truth memorial cemetery comprised of tombstones from North Carolina.
New Mexico Trail of Truth
The very first New Mexico Trail of Truth will be held on August 30th, 2025 at the Santuario de Chimayo shrine in Chimayo, New Mexico.

Opioid Settlement Advisory Board Meeting
Trail of Truth will be painting tombstones and providing public comments during the New York State Opioid Settlement Advisory Board Meeting. As the meeting is hybrid, participants are able to join from either Albany, Buffalo, or New York City!

Trail of Truth March to the Sea
Trail of Truth March to the Sea will include a march to the Fire Island Lighthouse beach. Tombstone painting opportunities will be available at THRIVE at 1324 Motor Parkway, Hauppage, NY, on September 7th, 9th, 16th, and 23rd from 1-3pm.
The March to the Sea will begin at 11am at Robert Moses Parking Lot 5. We will march to the Fire Island Lighthouse Beach with our loved one’s tombstones, and plant them on the beach, creating a memorial cemetery in front of the historic lighthouse.
