EVENT SCHEDULE

Friday, September 26th

6:00PM - 7:00PM: Meet and Greet Reception at the memorial cemetery site at 7th St SW. Get to know our Trail of Truth National Partners and enjoy light fare! Register to attend here.

7:00PM - 8:00PM: Candlelit Vigil and Memory Share at the memorial cemetery site

9:00PM - 10:00PM: “Power” Photoshoot. The Trail of Truth offers us a space to express our grief in many forms. We are excited to offer the opportunity to show your fighting spirit on the National Mall on the gravel pass through the park that aligns with 9th Street SW. Come dressed in the color red in whatever makes you feel strong, powerful and fabulous! Our incredible photographers will be there to take power portraits to show our warrior side.

Saturday, September 27th

10:00AM: Author’s Panel, featuring an incredible array of authors whose work explores issues related to substance use and mental health. Registration required.

11:00AM - 4:00PM: Memorial Cemetery will be open, as well as our other memorialization displays and Healing Spaces. Other memorialization displays include the Enough is Enough Crosses, the Today I Matter poster display, the Eternal Angel Poster Project, and more! In our Healing Spaces, you will find a wide variety of offerings including Narcan training, creative activities, and grief and recovery support groups.

4:00PM - 6:00PM: Speakers and Performers will take the stage.

6:00PM - 7:00PM: Dancing with the Angels at the memorial cemetery site

SPEAKERS AND PERFORMERS

The 2025 National Trail of Truth will include Tracie Gardner, Kimberly Douglas, Erica Poellott, and Angela Kennecke as featured speakers.  Our performers are Allie Torto and Lonnie Brown. We will have an ASL interpreter, Eliza Moore, present.

Speakers and performers will take the stage from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the 7th St gravel pass next to the memorial cemetery.

AUTHOR’S PANEL

The panel will be held at our host hotel, Yotel Washington DC, in Hub 1 at 10am on September 27th.  Space is limited for this opportunity, so please register here if you plan on attending! Panelists include Bassey Ikpi, Pat Roos, Judy Mandel, and Jason Mayo.
